Turkey and Egypt, compared on the same ledger

Two coastlines, one method. Each gateway below opens the same evidence set: resort facilities, transfer minutes from the runway to reception, and a season price index drawn from twelve months of fares.

Scope note: figures cover 4 and 5 star family resorts with a kids' club and direct beach access. Where a facility is missing for one destination it stays in the table as an em dash, so the comparison never hides a gap.

02 / Facility comparison

Beach, kids club, meal plan, transfer: the same rows for both coasts

We put the same eleven questions to every resort. A missing amenity stays in the table instead of being edited out, so the two destination columns remain directly comparable.

Median answers taken from 2024 season resort fact sheets. A dash means the amenity is not offered as standard.

05 / Season price index

When a family week costs least on each coast

Twelve months, two coasts, one index. Bar height shows the package price against the cheapest month in the sample.

Teal bars: Turkey. Navy bars: Egypt. The accent marks the bar you select.

Select a month bar to read its index note.

Index 100 is the cheapest month in the sample: seven nights, all inclusive, two adults and two children, booked 60 days ahead. Ranges guide planning, not quotes. How the index is built

05 / Methodology

What the comparison rests on

Facility rows, transfer minutes and season prices come from published resort fact sheets and our own route checks, not from brochure copy. Where a source disagrees with a hotel's own page, we keep the more conservative figure.

Resort facilities
Hotel fact sheets and operator contracts, checked against recent family reports. Reviewed quarterly.
Transfer minutes
Airport to resort driving records taken at midday traffic, rounded to 5 min steps for each vehicle class.
Season and price
Operator feeds for Antalya, Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh. The index sets the cheapest observed month at 100.
Flight routes
Three Ukrainian gateways, published schedules and connection times, seats rechecked twice weekly.

Limits of this comparison

  • Price figures are index values, not live quotes. They shift with season and departure airport.
  • Facility lists change without notice, so confirm children's club ages and meal plans before booking.
  • Transfer times assume daytime arrival. Night arrivals can add 20 to 40 minutes.
